This is no ordinary Tayana V42. If you’re not planning to cruise anywhere, this isn’t the vessel for you.
The owners upgraded and added many features in preparation for global adventure. Her previous owners, a retired couple, sailed her from California to Australia and back, exploring island groups along the way for several years. They extended the fixed stainless aft pulpit to reach around the cockpit and support solar panels, and added a stainless mast to support a wind generator. Returning to North America, they kept her in Mexico’s Sea of Cortez, exploring that part of the world for several more years. The original owner before them went to the factory in Taiwan to supervise her construction, adding amenities such as deck prisms and opening port lights. He beefed her up with gear such as heavy duty chain plates, behind the mast furling, and mast steps. He then sailed her from California to Hawaii and French Polynesia several times before letting her enjoy bigger adventures. Whatever your cruising dreams, Kandu can get you there . . . and back.
